Many design features are drawn from Sacramento’s historic neighborhoods. The street connecting the two parks will have a 36 foot wide median and four rows of street trees providing a canopy over the street – a design in the spirit of T Street to the east of 39th Street.  Streets will have separated sidewalks with a six foot green space for street trees planted 30 feet on center to arch over the streets and to provide an enjoyable walking experience for pedestrians.

There will be 15 common greens throughout the community, providing places for residents to gather, relax, and recreate. There will be roadway, bike, and pedestrian access to the McKinley Park neighborhood, Midtown, and Sutter’s Landing Park. And, there will be
well-designed landscaped entrances to the community – both at the new bridge undercrossing at Lanatt Way and at A Street on the western end of the site.

The McKinley Village partnership looks forward to continuing to work with the community on the land use application and design of the site. During the course of the application period, the project team will work closely with neighbors and other interested individuals to achieve the best possible result for the McKinley Village site and the community.
